Speaking To Our Children About Tragedy

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we acknowledge the recent tragic loss of a young boy’s life in Brooklyn. As this story has been in the news extensively in recent days, we know that many children have heard about it and undoubtedly have a range of feelings in response. In a perfect world there would be no need to discuss an issue such as this with children; however as we know, the world we live in is not perfect. Giving children a safe and supportive means of expressing their thoughts and feelings with a trusted adult is imperative to their mental health and well-being. Therefore, we would like to share with you a letter we emailed to the community providing some guidance as to how to discuss this issue with our children. Please click here to see the letter, and feel free to call us at 972.437.9950 if we can be of additional help.
