Marti Tamm Loring, PhD, is director of the Center for Mental Health and Human Development, and The Emotional Abuse Institute, both in Atlanta, Georgia. She has taught at numerous colleges and universities and conducted workshops and seminars throughout the United States.
Dr. Loring is the author of Emotional Abuse and Stories from the Heart: Case Studies of Emotional Abuse, and co-editor of The Journal of Emotional Abuse. She has also written numerous professional articles about emotional abuse and trauma, and often testifies in court in cases related to those issues.
A licensed clinical social worker and a sociologist, Dr. Loring has developed new theories and concepts of emotional abuse, as well as a new mode of treatment for emotionally abused individuals.
